Steve King Compares Himself To 'Duck Dynasty' Star

Rep. Steve King (R-IA) compared himself to controversial "Duck Dynasty" star Phil Robertson in a campaign email this week, the Des Moines Register reported.
"The leftists who disagree with him made it clear with their attacks that conservatives are to be driven from public life if they express their opinions, however objectively true they might be," King wrote to supporters about Robertson. "I have been in similar situations to the one Phil Robertson finds himself in now. I have learned to navigate their intolerance while holding firm to our values."
Robertson was suspended from his A&E reality television show for making anti-gay comments during an interview with GQ magazine, but he will return to the show for the fifth season.
King got himself into hot water in July when he said young undocumented immigrants have "calves the size of cantaloupes because they're hauling 75 pounds of marijuana across the desert."
