Here Comes Mitt Romney To Weigh-In On The Melissa Harris-Perry Controversy

TOM KLUDT – JANUARY 3, 2014, 1:50 PM EST

Mitt Romney has been booked to appear on "Fox News Sunday" this weekend, and he'll likely use the platform to address a controversy surrounding his adopted black grandson.

As the Hollywood Reporter noted, it's probably no coincidence that Romney — long reluctant to sit down for interviews — agreed to appear on Fox after a week in which MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry took a ton of heat for an on-air that made light of the 2012 GOP presidential nominee's grandson, Kieran.

According to Mediaite, Romney is expected to address the controversy.

During a segment on Harris-Perry's program last weekend, two of her guests cracked jokes about Kieran Romney's race. Harris-Perry actually called the child "gorgeous" during the segment, but nevertheless apologized earlier this week.

I would expect Fox to ask a question about that, and I would expect him to answer one way or another, but frankly, this type of report shows how bad TPM has become, just an attempt to emulate HuffPost.

kind of pre-supposes he has some gravitas to lend to it.

I don't think so.
