Barbara Bush on Why She Doesn't Want Jeb to Run for President

By Josh Voorhees

"If we can't find more than two or three families to run for office, that's silly, because there are great governors and great eligible people to run," Barbara Bush says in a C-SPAN interview taped back in October that will be air on Monday (excerpt above). "And I think that the Kennedys, Clintons, Bushes — there are just more families than that. And I'm not arrogant enough to think that we alone are raising" presidential candidates. The former first lady made similar comments last year when she said that "we've had enough Bushes" in the White House.

level of abuse...either party. And the parties don't want to put the billion dollars behind a candidate who hasn't already been nationally vetted. These families don't have many secrets left to ooze out.

It's a horse of a different color from a Statehouse or representing a state or district. It worked before when there were "gentleman's agreements" not to probe into personal life. See Hollande in France as Europe's standard. It's private. Next question?

Politics does not inspire the pure/chaste or they don't last long...who was it likened the process to a brothel? Think it was, of all people, Herman Cain.

Many people in New Jersey don't care what Christie has done...don't want to know...he brings plenty of projects and money and knows how to work the system there. Like a kid who doesn't want to believe that their parent is a crook...because it means their survival is threatened.
