Wexton Wins Senate Race For Dems

Democrat Jennifer Wexton has opened an early lead over Republican John Whitbeck and Independent Joe T. May as vote counts are reported in today's special election of for the 33rd Senate District seat.
According to unofficial results available at 7:35 p.m. Wexton lead Whitbeck by almost a 2 to 1 margin. Wexton has won the majority of votes in all but two precincts.
The winner will serve the remainder of Attorney General Mark Herring's Senate term.
