Christie Hits Back: Bridge Official Will 'Say Anything To Save' Himself

DYLAN SCOTT – FEBRUARY 1, 2014, 5:42 PM EST

In an email leaked Saturday, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie's office responded more vigorously to new allegations by his former Port Authority appointee that he knew more about the George Washington Bridge lane closures than he has admitted.

The 700-word email, reported by Politico, is titled "5 Things You Should Know About The Bombshell That's Not A Bombshell." It was sent to friends and allies, according to the news outlet.

Christie's office attacked the New York Times's portrayal of the revelations, reasserted Christie's truthfulness in the past and attacked the credibility of the official, David Wildstein, whose attorney claimed that “evidence exists as well tying Mr. Christie to having knowledge of the lane closures, during the period when the lanes were closed, contrary to what" Christie said in a January press conference.

"Bottom line - David Wildstein will do and say anything to save David Wildstein," the email concludes.

there are so many looking to make a deal....the Feds are having a ball letting them compete to be "the chosen one" that gets to take out Chris Christie as the Mastermind to shave some of their "time behind bars" down....The Feds are letting them all duke it out...by seeing who is going to leak too much about what they have and therefore lose value....who is going to "fink" first! I like watching them all stew like this.....the anxiety must be getting really annoying by now....

Pretty scathing diagnosis from someone who barely knows him.

Simply shocking! Seems Mr. Christie knew David Wildstein in high school a lot better than he lets on - who remembers these kind of details about schmucks they barely knew in high school?

Christi is being given the illusion that he's still "okay" within the party..

When the party is ready, they have laid the ground work to appear as being fair and objective, the evidence continues to mount, they will dump him hard.

He's being used to rebrand the gop, and achieve their pay back for embracing Obama and costing them the election, in their minds.
