A new candidate for a Michigan seat on the Republican National Committee wants gays "purged" from the GOP and claims homosexuality is a "perversion" created by Satan himself.

Mary Helen Sears of Houghton County in the state's Upper Peninsula, elected vice chair of the Michigan Republican Party's 1st District last year, posted a rant in April on the Schoolcraft County GOP website -- preceded by a warning asking readers to "please use your discretion before taking any decisions based on the information in this blog."


If she is a Christian, then she should know that God creates all people, not Satan. Therefore
if a gay/lesbian is a 'perversion', then that would make GOD a pervert.

Then how isn't she a Christian. I asked the question what defines someone as a Christian in the Religion Forum and it seems there is no good answer.

You can't pick and choose who is and isn't a Christian based on your personal dislike of them.If it is found that she doesn't believe in Christ, then you may have an argument. Until then you are using the 'No true Scotsman' fallacy, as I understand it.

3. The more these POS Rethugs rant, the more they alienate young voters.

Even in some of the more conservative states, many young people are becoming more progressive. Many conservatives are knowing more and more people that are gay and having gay family member out themselves to them. They're turning off large future constituencies as more of the young electorate comes of age.
