Illinois GOP gov hopefuls keeping their distance from Christie
By LYNN SWEET Washington Bureau Chief February 7, 2014 8:44PM
Updated: February 8, 2014 2:10AM
WASHINGTON Embattled New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, struggling to get ahead of the bridge scandal, hits Chicago on Tuesday for Republican Governors Association fundraisers, but the four Republicans running for Illinois governor did not have plans to attend.
Meanwhile, the Democratic National Committee is deploying former Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland to helm a Chicago press conference Tuesday where he will highlight Christies George Washington Bridge controversy as Democrats are dogging Christie as he is starting to travel across the country in his new role as RGA chair, where his main job is to raise money to elect Republican governors in 2014.
I asked spokesmen for the four Illinois rivals in the March GOP governors primary on Thursday whether they would attend any of the fundraising events Christie will headline in Chicago on Tuesday.
Wes Bleed, a spokesman for state Sen. Kirk Dillard R-Hinsdale said, no, we wont be attending any Christie events.

Seems the Republican leaders are smart enough to tell a crook, as opposed to the 30-some percent

that still believes he's a victim...or the fierce and mighty liar and deceiver.... his Admin Aide. Hubris has brought him a long way, but there comes a time that even that wears out in favor of reality and just plain common sense.
He may still end up wearing an orange jump suit ... wouldn't that be an interesting event for the Republican Governor's Assn. They know he's dirty.
Can't wait to see a clip on the Strickland press conference.

their constituents should start to wake up and check into their shenanigans or dirty laundry.
