CAITLIN MACNEAL FEBRUARY 16, 2014, 10:53 AM EST
Mitt Romney on Sunday said that Bill Clinton and the Lewinsky scandal should not be a factor voters consider if Hillary Clinton runs for president in 2016.
"I don't think Bill Clinton is as relevant as Hillary Clinton if she decides to run for president," he said on NBC's "Meet the Press." "She has her own record and her own vision."
Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), a 2016 hopeful, has recently tried to resurface the Lewinsky scandal and has suggested that it might be a factor in Hillary Clinton's bid for the White House if she decides to run.
Romney said that while Bill Clinton made mistakes, Hillary Clinton should not have to answer for them. "He embarrassed the nation. He breached his responsibility as an adult," he said. "That's not Hillary Clinton's to explain."

(4,867 posts)But he is irrelevant. It should say "some guy".
Romney doesn't hold political office, isn't important, and anytime we pretend he is relevant it helps keep him in the news until 2016.

(60,536 posts)DU was that influential? Here I thought the fact he was on "Meet the Press" (where these quotes from him originated) had more influence then DU.

(30,247 posts)It's the response that Rand should have given to Gregory when he posed the same question to him. On the other hand, Gregory is a jerk for even bringing up that question. It's a sexist question. Wives are not responsible for their husband's misdeeds.
DonViejo
(60,536 posts)which forces me to ask the question, is David Gregory pushing this agenda about Hillary and the 'pukes being gullible enough to fall into the trap?
Beacool
(30,247 posts)Gregory initially asked Rand about his wife's comments in a Vogue magazine interview, but now he seems to be asking other people the same question. I think that the media pushes these kinds of things because controversy sells. I doubt that Gregory really gives a hoot about this issue.

(3,544 posts)From Gay comments to Lewinski, to Hilliary. Everyone is sick and tired of listening to this loser. Does he have nothing better to do?
And who cares what his perspective is on these subjects.

(24,395 posts)We hardly heard anything from him during his lackluster campaign for POTUS. Is the MSM and/or GOP trying to pump him up for another run in 2016? Are they looking for donations for races? What? It almost seems like he is running around trying to do a "I told you so" tour to get back at President Obama for beating him in 2012- though I will NEVER regret voting for Barack Obama over losers like John McCain and Mitt Romney and their sidekicks, Sarah Palin and Paul Ryan.

(3,544 posts)and you now have the top 6 losers of the GOP. And there are many more to come.
