Amendment 1 tomorrow in NC

As you all know we will be voting AGAINST Amendment 1 in NC tomorrow. This is what happened in my city of Greensboro last night:

This is what the Black community has done. If it passes we can't be blamed and if it fails we need to get some credit for it.We did our part.

As the black preachers have said, this is more than just about Gay marriages. It has the potential to affect EVERYBODY!

Well the Black community did its part.

I think the LGBT community should have made it about EVERYBODY and failed into the trap that rethugs set up to make it about Gay marriage.
On the real, there are going to be some people who just personally don't like or agree with homosexuality but when Gay rights will affect their rights they will vote the right way.

My philosophy is, "You don't have to like me or how I live, just LET me live!"

And it is about everybody. As a matter of fact, the only commercials against it that I have seen have been talking about how it would affect straight couples who are not married and have children and how it would affect single straight women who have protection orders against an abusive ex-boyfriend.

Of course the black community has done its part here in NC. The black community, from what I have seen, has been the most vocal against Amendment 1 in NC.

I am still hoping that it doesn't pass. I know my household is two votes against it. One already through absentee and mine tomorrow will be against it too.

affect everybody. "The LGBT community," as you put it, did not fall into any trap. If anything, I think that the opposition to the amendment (which included way more than just "the LGBT community&quot went too far in not talking about gay rights at all.

Marriage for gay people was illegal before the amendment was passed, and it's still illegal tonight, and it would still be illegal if the amendment were defeated. Now a whole lot of other people will be hurt too. That was the point I made when I phonebanked against the amendment. There was nothing in our scripts that said anything about gay marriage. All we talked about was how this would hurt children and lots of straight people.

I suspect that you are trying to start trouble. The LGBT community is not to blame for this constitutional amendment. It certainly wasn't our idea.

... several of my conservative/libertarian GOP leaning friends are against this amendment. They are being very vocal about it too. I just hope they remember come November who it was that gave us this amendment. I just think its ironic Im going out to vote against an amendment written by politicians who were elected because they claimed to want a less intrusive government.
