Joe Scarborough has Selective Amnesia

I've got to stop watching this garbage. This morning Joe Scarborough was going on and on about how terrible Sen. Reid is for saying the Koch Brothers are 'Un-American', throwing out that it is McCarthyism, and he can't believe a Senate Majority Leader would say such horrible things.

Joe Scarborough from 4/4/14: "It is shocking that you have the senate majority leader using these McCarthy-ite terms like 'Un-American' and no senator on the democratic side is the least bit uneasy."

Unlike Joe Scarborough, I don't have selective amnesia, and I recall a lot of that 'un-american' terminology being thrown around during the Bush Administration.

Google turns up these golden oldies:

Bill Frist: "It is anti-American and only fuels the animus of our enemies who are constantly searching for ways to portray our great country and our people as anti-Muslim, anti-Arab"

and was really worried about some of the talk by Bush, Cheney, Ashcroft, et. al back then not to mention the eerie talk about the prospect of being one more terrorist attack from potential martial law. Guiliani (if memory serves) even suggested temporarily postponing the next mayoral election because of 9/11. Between an AG accusing people whom questioned anti-terror policies of giving aid and comfort to terrorists, Dixie Chick memorabilia burning, and the demonization of any politicians the slightest bit critical of Bush and his "war on terra", I was genuinely worried about the future of our country. Being critical of two mega-wealthy industrialists trying to buy off elections and politicians is not even remotely similar to some of that post-9/11 rhetoric (or even some of the rhetoric we hear today like "watering the tree of liberty with blood&quot . It's not even like Reid or anybody else is calling for them to face the guillotine or even to be arrested by the authorities. The Kochs are spending insane amounts of money to influence elections and politicians and attacking Democrats and the ACA specifically. There's no reason why Reid can't (or shouldn't) fight back. Republicans just want an (un)even playing field where they can attack Democrats, President Obama, but the they aren't allowed to fight back- and when they do, they're being "mean", "unfair", etc.

I've found that constantly exposing myself to people who make my head explode isn't good for me. He's a whiny, self-centered boy-child-man whose opinion is based on anything that is self-aggrandizement.
