Santorum undecided in 2016 bid

WASHINGTON (AP) — The once and perhaps future presidential candidate Rick Santorum has lots of policy ideas for fellow Republicans seeking public office.

He’s just not sure he’ll be one of those hopefuls ever again. The former Pennsylvania senator tells The Associated Press that he’s enjoying his second career as a movie studio executive.

He also says in an interview ahead of publication of his latest book that his party will struggle for victories unless GOP candidates offer policies that would help working Americans.

Santorum isn’t ruling out a 2016 presidential run. But he says he can help shape his party’s future from offstage.

Santorum is the gift that keeps on giving. Yes, the GOP is stupid, but I still think they will nominate a candidate who is much more center and mainstream than RS. Looks to me like Paul is beginning to tone down his RW rhetoric and move more to the center. I could see a lot of repubs. holding their noses and voting for RP. He's the one to worry about IMHO. Of course, it's mighty early yet.

In Paul's short time as a politician, he has been caught plagiarizing others, being obnoxious, and often saying clueless things. His entire base is likely the combination of the far right and a libertarian part of the very far left. I seriously doubt he could win a nomination or the general election if he won a nomination.

Santorum is awful and always has been, but I remember one primary speech where he spoke to the working class - referencing his grandfather. More than Santorum, I fear the Republicans could find someone more likable who could try that same message. If they could succeed - mind boggling as it seems to convince independents that they are against Wall Street and Clinton for it, they might be dangerous.

Fortunately, I don't think such a Republican exists -- and I don't think Santorum could become it.

And when have they ever done that?
