Benghazi = 7 vs 5

Benghazi panel to have 7 GOPers, 5 Dems

The select committee that will probe the attacks in Benghazi will have seven Republicans and five Democrats, according to the resolution creating the panel.
The resolution — posted to the House Rules Committee website on Tuesday night — will come to the floor Thursday and is expected to pass by a wide margin. Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) has tapped South Carolina GOP Rep. Trey Gowdy to chair the panel.

The Gowdy committee, as it’s being informally called among House aides, will “conduct a full and complete investigation and study and issue a final report” to the House on “all policies, decisions an activities that contributed to the attacks on United States facilities in Benghazi, Libya, on Sept. 11, 2012, as well as those that affected the ability of the United States to prepare for the attacks. …”

Also under consideration will be “all policies, decisions and activities to respond and repel the attacks” on the Consulate in Benghazi.

boycott this shit if I was Pelosi. I don't know if it's the wisest move but there isn't anything that the pricks in the GOP won't use for political gain.

That being said if I was a Congressman and Pelosi asked me to be on the committee personally I'd turn it down pretty emphatically. Being physically anywhere near Trey Gowdy would ensure a near constant gag reflex and that can't be too good for your health.

If they don't show up and boycott this fiasco - it will look like a Repub witch hunt and political stunt.

I think there are enough committees and agencies that have convened and written reports that the Dems could defend their position.

“conduct a full and complete investigation and study and issue a final report”

The senate and the state department have already done reports on Benghazi and all
this started up again after the right wing found an email about a memo ..... talk
