Nancy Pelosi: Families Of Benghazi Victims Have Asked Us Not To Launch New Committee

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said the families of victims of the 2012 Benghazi, Libya, attack have reached out to lawmakers to ask them not to launch another probe into the incident.

"Two of their families have called us and said, 'Please don't take us down this path again,'" Pelosi said during her weekly press conference. "It's really hard for them. It's very sad."

Rep. Louise Slaughter's (D-N.Y.) office confirmed that a family member from the maternal side of Tyrone Woods' family called on Thursday to express support for the congresswoman's position on the issue, which is that another probe is not necessary. Woods was one of the CIA contractors killed in the attack. A Democratic aide said another family also has reached out to Democrats.

One was an Obama appointee, so you hate him for sure, the other 3 were civil servants to one extent or another and since we know republicans HATE veterans and are always the first to send them to their deaths and the last ones to provide benefits for them when they get home, your hate is known.

Hate was something I rarely felt in my lifetime until Obama was elected, you rightwing terrorists have managed to make me hate you

I'm reposting your words for people to laugh at when you have left the building.

Your logic is nonexistence. It was Bill Clinton that told the marine that had just opened the door to the Ovil office "God I hate you guys". He then went on a spree of closing bases calling the action "the peace deviden". George Bush was cheered by the troops wherever he went, while Obama enters to a quiet house. Make the argument with facts, you are just hurting the cause.

My heart goes out to the families but the Democrats aren't the ones asking for yet another hearing and the Pukes aren't going to stop at their request. The Dems have already tried to end this so what exactly do the families expect them to do? They need to call a press conference themselves and make an announcement that the Republicans are putting them through hell and it needs to stop. It has to come through them and in a very public forum so it can't be called partisan or be swept under the rug.

Its all about money and political motive. Did they care about the 55 or so killed during the Bushie presidency and not even 911 - HELL NO. The patriot act was enhanced, i.e. NSA, and two wars . . that were not even mentioned monetary wise in the USA budget. GOPers owe the American people for the cost of the two wars, the shutdown (24 billion) and all this gawd damn bullshit witch hunt investigations.

most people want this matter
brought to a rapid conclusion.

how did the financing work?
the CIA paid? the local street thugs
for security but the money really?
went for arms that were all over the
place after Ghaddaffi was ousted and
the Turks would? supply transport,
how were they going to get paid.

It's all about hurting Hillary's political chances in 2016.

Benghazi was not a US embassy, nor listed as a consulate nor any US diplomatic office. It was 400 miles from the Embassy in Tripoli and not on any published State Dept list. I think it very likely that it was not at all run by the State Dept but was instead a secret CIA base. And this likelihood is known to the Republicans.

They know that the White House - no matter who might occupy it - is keenly aware that admitting to a spy station in the midst of Libya (especially the very city where the revolt against Ghaddafi began) would cause terrible diplomatic repercussions and not only in Libya, and endanger a number of people still in Libya who had any sort of dealings with that station. This would discourage the locals in all the other countries from being helpful to any US spy operations where they are. Admitting the existence of a CIA station in Benghazi is such a no-no that any Administration would stonewall or make outrageous lies rather than admit the truth. The Republicans know this and hope to humiliate Obama in this way.

This is a replay of the Cheney-ordered exposure of Valerie Plame as a long-time CIA officer (responsible for watching the movement of nuclear weapons) as a means of punishing her husband, a former ambassador, because he debunked the Bush lie about WMDs in Iraq. No only was Plame's career wrecked - and her life endangered - but the lives of several Americans and many locals in several foreign countries were endangered because it could be discovered that at some point they had dealings with her. In other words, the Dubya Administration was willing to trash years of delicate CIA work, and set back CIA operations around the world, notwithstanding that Poppy Bush had himself briefly been nominal head of the CIA, just to punish someone for not going along with Bush's bs excuse for invading Iraq. Now Boehner and others are willing to endanger and cripple CIA operations again in hopes that they can somehow wound Obama and maybe Hillary.

Egg-zag-lee on point. Being a CIA base means that we couldn't say everything
about it after the attack and the republicans know that so they see Benghazi as
a chance to score points and the administration can't fight back.
