White House, Clinton Aide Push Back Against Rove

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The White House and an aide to Hillary Rodham Clinton are pushing back against Republican strategist Karl Rove for suggesting that the former secretary of state's health could be an issue if she runs for president in 2016.

Clinton was hospitalized in December 2012 following the discovery of a blood clot near her brain, and Rove told Fox News on Tuesday that Clinton's health could be an issue in a presidential campaign.

The New York Post reported Tuesday that Rove suggested at a private conference near Los Angeles last week that Clinton suffered brain damage in a fall in December 2012.

Rove is disputing, though, that he referred to any brain damage.

A Clinton spokesman says the former first lady is "100 percent."
