(13,190 posts)I don't see a breakdown in independents which are going to be the deciding factor. In all these races in November http://results.enr.clarityelections.com/KY/50972/130489/en/summary.html

(35,699 posts)The mainstream media may be completely off this time around. It appears that the malaise may be on the side of the Republicans, not the Democrats. It is clear not that Republicans are not going to repeal the ACA, so it is hard to see what is going to get lots of the teabaggers to the polls. I just don't buy it that the teabaggers are going to fall in line behind the establishment candidates. Their so called leaders might but many will not - why should they?

(31,849 posts)A majority of Bevin supporters indicated that they would not vote for McConnell in the general election, if he won the primary.
This goes along with glen beck's pre-primary comment that should McConnell win the election, he would stay home for the general election "Why should I vote in the general election? The choice would be between McConnell and Grimes! Nope, I wouldn't waste my time."
Good ... This is open moment that I hope to see beck fans listen to beck.

(6,336 posts)Both KY and PA have partisan registration, but I'm not sure if independents can vote in the primary or not.
I know in NJ (my voting state) they can, but doing so will make them affiliated with the party. In NY (only other state I voted in), primaries are closed to unaffiliated voters).

(5,067 posts)In elections the ratio of Repulican to Dems is normally more than 2/3 Repub to less than 1/3 Dem. On Tues we almost reached a 50/50 vote count. Not only that, 3 Republicans wrote in Tom Wolf's name, something I have NEVER seen before. There was also a married couple that asked how they could switch their registration from Repub to Dem. We told them they would have to go to the office in the courthouse.
