House GOP Campaign Arm Created Misleading Fake News Sites

The National Republican Campaign Committee has created fake news sites about House candidates, presumably to take advantage of readers who don't pay close attention to what news sources they read, National Journal reported.

Earlier this year, the NRCC got in some trouble for creating deceptive fake campaign sites for Democrats that ask people to contribute in order to help "defeat" the candidate.

According to National Journal, the NRCC is promoting more than 20 of these websites using google search ads. So when people search for candidates in for their district, these fake articles pop up.

The stories appear on election2014update.com, and have site names like “Central Valley Update.” The fake new sites begin stories by explaining that they will analyze the candidate's position but take a critical tone.

Republicans should be satisfied with the billions of dollars worth of free false advertising they get from Fox News and talk radio.

From the 2008 documentary of Lee Atwater - Boogyman:

Ed Rollins stated: The Lee Atwater Story, that &quot Atwater) was telling this story about how a Living Bible was what was giving him faith and I said to Mary (Matalin), 'I really, sincerely hope that he found peace.' She said, 'Ed, when we were cleaning up his things afterwards, the Bible was still wrapped in the cellophane and had never been taken out of the package,' which just told you everything there was. He was spinning right to the end."

Considering all the damage done by Lee Atwater to the American political process and the unrepentant zealots that still practice his particularly vile, racist, hate filled form of political combat I find his actions unforgivable and unforgettable.
