Rick Scott returns 'rescue dog' after he wins 2010 election.

What a sleaze! He 'adopts' a rescue dog, makes a big deal about it, then returns the dog as soon as the election is over, claiming the dog 'wasn't a good fit for the family'! If you follow the link and look at some of the pictures, you will see that the dog loved Scott. But I guess Scott was only using him as an election prop. Makes me want to smack him.

Rick Scott, the governor of Florida, rescued a Labrador retriever during the 2010 GOP campaign, but gave him back after he was inaugurated, it was revealed Monday.

The Republican governor only had the dog, Reagan, for the duration of his gubernatorial campaign, and gave the retriever back after he was sworn into office.

Scott had adopted the retriever shortly after his GOP nomination two years ago. The candidate posted photos of the dog to his Facebook campaign website, asking constituents to help name the newest member of his family.

Need I say anything else about my feelings?

Except maybe the dog was lucky in the long run. What is it about Republicans & dogs, anyway? Nixon & Checkers, Romney & the cartop carrier, this…

But what about Checkers? The cocker spaniel lived with the Nixons until he died at the age of 13 in 1964, four years before Nixon was elected president.

Three other dogs romped in the Nixon White House, however:
1.President Nixon’s Irish setter, Timahoe
2.Tricia’s Yorkie, Pasha
3.Julie Nixon’s poodle, Vicky

Nixon reportedly kept a drawer full of dog biscuits in his desk. He enjoyed watching the dogs play and often requested that the dogs be let outside at dinnertime so that he could watch them while he dined on the Truman balcony.
