the sitting AG for the State of Arizona has been permanently barred from engaging in any securities practice.

Failing up seems to be the gop way.

They are convinced they sing well and that any criticizim is jealousy or something else, it's rigged. In the legal field there are several different skill sets required and we may be better at some than others. Some are so deficient in a certain area(s) that they cannot properly do the job. It's a hard thing to take when you are used to doing so much better than average through school. The job is too important to let them through. The public needs to know this!

In a July TV interview with "Nevada Newsmakers," Laxalt was asked about his private practice experience and said:
"In the case of Lewis and Roca, I've had nothing but great success at Lewis and Roca."

AG hopeful Laxalt was described in law firm evaluation as a "train wreck," borderline incompetent to practice

The Laxalt name has considerable prominence in Nevada, given the service of (grandfather) Paul Laxalt as a district attorney, lieutenant governor, governor, and U.S. senator. But other Laxalts have been unable to translate that name recognition into political success. In the case of Adam Laxalt’s candidacy, the Laxalt family has split, some of its members supporting Democrat Ross Miller.

Who?

Laxalt is only 34, has never run for office before and is campaigning for attorney general—attorney general!—in Nevada, where he has been a cipher until just recently and whose last name explains … everything. That’s because Laxalt has one of the most unusual pedigrees in American politics: He’s the grandson of Paul Laxalt, the former senator and Ronald Reagan confidant once known as “the first friend”—still, at 91, casting a long if not always visible shadow in Nevada politics. Awkwardly, young Laxalt is also the illegitimate son of Sen. Pete Domenici, his grandfather’s longtime Senate colleague. In fact, it was only last year that Adam Laxalt’s mother Michelle, a 24-year-old Reagan operative at the time of the affair and now a well-known Washington lobbyist, revealed her son’s parentage for the first time, a sensational revelation that almost certainly had the effect of clearing the way for his political career.

Laxalt is the only important word in that review if it ever gets published in local papers or web sites. MOst people won't bother to read the articles. Most voters will assume he's like his father and give him a pass.

If elected he'll be a train wreck. "Adam/Paul Laxalt?, good people." People often seem to vote for off spring and family members with an unreasonable expectation that they're as good or at least competent as their relatives. Its one of the few things that happen in both parties.

Looks like some other Republican wants to be Nevada AG more, and has access to Law Firm files.

Let alone passed the bar exam. Like Michelle Bachman and Ted Cruz, for example.

Law school is about three times harder than undergrad. At least where I went to school. It was Grim World. No laughing, no joking, no smiling. Maybe at some other school you could coast, but not at the one I went to.
