(12,504 posts)4. I don't understand the mathematical averaging on RCP
if Romney is a total of +4
and Obama a total of +19
how can Obama's RCP average be +1.8?

(34,857 posts)7. They're averaging the percentage, not the margins...
Obama | Romney
45-47
46-45
43-44
50-42
49-42
47-48
46-43
47-47
The average of each poll is: 46.6-44.8 in favor of Obama. That's a margin of 1.8.

(45,850 posts)8. even CBS admitted that this was not a 'traditional' poll
it was based on call backs but it has garnered them a fair amount of attention

(10,893 posts)9. This was a warped poll and yet
they still used it on MSNBC today.
