BREAKING: Virginia's Racially Gerrymandered 3rd Congressional District Struck Down!

Last edited Tue Oct 7, 2014, 04:34 PM - Edit history (2)

*"Constitutional rights have been injured by improper racial gerrymandering"

*"Racial gerrymandering, even for remedial purposes, may balkanize us into competing racial factions...it threatens to carry us further from the goal of a political system in which race no longer matters."

Great news, given that Virginia went for Obama twice, has two Democratic U.S. Senators and 3 statewide elected Democrats, yet has an absurdly skewed Congressional delegation (8-3) in favor of the Republicans.

They know it takes years in the courts to undo their gerrymandering damage.

of a cascade of court decisions similar to what has been happening with gay marriage? Goodness knows, we desperately need it. If so, that could only empower election reform and return of further power to the people.

Government of the people, by the people, and for the people.
