2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumDo you know about Maine's CRAZY Governor? DU THIS POLL TO HELP HIS DEM OPPONENT.
We are working hard to defeat the lunatic Paul TEABAG LePage here in Maine. They had their first debate today.
The Dem, Mike Michaud, did great. Michaud is currently a congressman and before served the Maine legislature for a number of terms.
The stickler is there is an Indy who could split the vote.
Here is a link to a poll saying Michaud did better in the debate. You can watch excerpts from the debate. Thanks.

(94,502 posts)Seriously, people should have gotten website polls out of their system back in 2004.

(13,570 posts)good. It shows some excitement, some level of support, some engagement, some enthusiasm. Every bit helps.
I don't see why you have to be a Debbie Downer about this. If you don't want to participate, don't. But there is enough Debbie Downerism out there.
I hope you are engaged this election cycle: donating, phonebanking, canvassing, etc. as I am and ALWAYS am during elections.
If you would like to continue to argue the point, you may. I'm signing off on this point. Good day.

(9,298 posts)The gravely voice, the mop-ups from perspiring, the actual body, the bluster, the way he moved....well, it reminded me of Danny Devito's penguin character in "Batman."
Another vote for Michaud here.

(35,046 posts)Doesn't seem like he's a very good governor if, by his own admission, half of the State is not working.

(54,349 posts)I was right next to him at an event in Southern Maine this past spring.
The guy can hardly put two sentences together. How the Maine Republicans ever even nominated this guy is a mystery to me.
