Top 5 Races Where Independent Voters Will Make The Difference

http://ivn.us/2014/10/09/top-5-races-independent-voters-will-make-difference/

In an age where over 90 percent of elections are determined in the primary, it’s a rare occurrence for candidates to focus on voters who are not affiliated with a political party during the general election.

Republican and Democratic party registration across the country has plummeted, and turnout is likely to dip 10-20 percent compared to presidential election years, according to Pew Research. With both of those factors in play, independent voters are primed to have a big impact this year.

Below are the top five races from around the country where independent-minded voters will determine the outcome:

Indies technically decide most races in CT as they're just under 50% of the electorate...but this race in particular is going to come down to the indies, because in 2010 they were only a few thousand votes apart, they're polling neck-and-neck, and neither Foley or Malloy is going to get more than a handful of aisle-crossing votes--they hate each other, their supporters hate each other, their agendas are aggressively-oppositional. (Malloy is a wanker: a nanny-state Democrat that believes in the magic of tax-increases and budget-cuts to stimulate economies( ); Foley honestly believes in Brownback economics especially when he can give himself a tax-cut and kick brown people off welfare and Medicaid. (Did I just insinuate the Tom Foley is a racist self-interested robber-baron? No, I pretty much stated it as a fact.))

Wish Jonathan Pelto's campaign got its act together and got itself on the ballot.
The only saving grace is that Ds will likely keep majorities in both the State Senate and House.

self inflicted wounds (which I can't understand) in addition to the rich Greenwich repubs.

So what do we do? I wish I knew. The unions are trying to GOTV and the rest of us are trying to.

How the hell did we lose so much of the working class Dems in CT? What the hell happened?

He has a lot of Union support, especially with teachers (for whatever reason, b/c his education policies stink).

And if he doesn't, he only has himself to blame.

I was just in Florida for a week, and the governor's race there was hot, hot, hot. Both candidates there are weak (for different reasons), but Scott is definitely beyond shady. Neither can seem to poll beyond 43-45 percent. Independents will be in the driver's seat on that one for sure.
