Ebola Spreads Rapidly Amoung the Poor; Medicaid Expansion Needed To Immunize Everyone In America.

What Went Wrong With Ebola: The Republican Controlled House was only interested in CUTS. Two Central Texas Independent School Districts close due to children being on the same flight to Dallas, as Nurse #2.

For anyone paying attention, the long-brewing crisis hardly came out of nowhere.

At the beginning of August, in a House subcommittee meeting, Ken Isaacs of Christian relief organization Samaritan's Purse said that elevated international aid was already overdue. "The Ebola crisis was not a surprise to us — we saw it coming back in April," he testified, sounding outraged as he castigated the United States for mostly not paying attention until two American Samaritan's Purse workers fell sick in late July.

We can't vaccinate everyone in America because no Ebola vaccine exists.

Initial production of 3-4 million doses of the first one has already begun in an unprecedented move by I think GSK so that as soon as results look safe and halfway effective they can start shipping.

Unfortunately, they are going to have to vaccinate medical workers in West Africa FIRST, then probably medical workers in other nations with Ebola (including the US), then the populace of West Africa. LONG before America's poor get it. Which is exactly as it should be. WE aren't the ones with millions facing death over the next 6-8 months if something isn't done.

before it's readily available here. It should be given first to the people in Africa and the health workers there and here, who will need it the most.

I am also expecting some whiny 1%-ers who haven't been anywhere near an Ebola patient to start demanding it for themselves.

in their right mind will need to even THINK about mass vaccination outside of Africa. It probably will join the ranks of many vaccines recommended for travelers to and from endemic areas.

when they got cases they tracked everyone who came in contact and did close monitoring. Those countries for the most part are in the clear.

I wish we could do better monitoring of all flights coming out of the 3 badly hurt countries but that probably isn't happening. But anyone coming into USA with a recent stamp from that region should be monitored and tracked.

prior to boarding planes to the US. Sort of like we sometimes have to do with dogs and cats when shipping to rabies-free island nations or Hawaii.

I don't see that happening, though.

And 3 cases in the states hardly seems like it's 'rapidly spreading'
