2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumI think we'll be able to tell fairly early on election night how bad it's going to be
I think NH is a bellwether state this year. If Brown wins over Shaheen and Garcia wins over Kuster, it's hard not to conclude that it will be a shitty night.

(67,089 posts)will be set early. What gets me is people are always so pissed with congress, so, they want to vote more republicans in? I just can't believe republican values is what America really wants, to be run over even more. Damn, we live in really fucked up times.

(26,721 posts)Right now, I'd say that NH and NC are the difference between 53-55 Republicans in the Senate. So if we're clearly losing there early after the polls close, it's a very bad night.
But we could easily win both of them and still lose the Senate outright (meaning... prior to runoffs in LA/GA).
I'd say that KS/IA/GA are the bellweather states as things stand today... and GA closes before NC or NH

(489 posts)Garcia is beginning to take on lots of water. A friend at one paper says they are on the verge of endorsing Kuster and lambasting Garcia, for her Tea Bagger views and her inability to form a coherent stand on just about anything.
My gut tells me Shaheen will win, but it will be a lot closer than it should be.

(114,904 posts)doesn't make any sense to me. I hope like hell that we can hold on to the Senate, but in the circus of fear enveloping this country, that seems unlikely.
