That moment when

you're trying to make nice with the new neighbor, discussing neighborly things, and he drops the "Obama was born in Kenya" bomb on you. To which I replied, "wow, you've really drunk the Fox news kool-aid." And then we went on to have a perfectly friendly conversation on those values and perspectives we DO share, rural living, etc. Oy!

We agreed people are entitled to their own opinions, though, I stressed not their own FACTS.

I was upfront with him (as I always am!) when he said Obama and all the liberals are corrupt and the problem. I said I agreed there is corruption at the top, though I blame the corporations (which, I said, also feed politicians).

I can't WAIT to put up my ELIZABETH WARREN FOR PRES (or, OK, Hillary) in 2016!

tough and good politician.

I dont want to know what he thinks now, i will become angry if he still thinks it.

Now my neighbor alleges he is registered Dem, but he sounds like one of those DLC types.

Another neighbor on one of the first days I met him we were at the mail boxes together on a Saturday, when he informed me how ridiculous it is to still have Saturday delivery, and that maybe the USPS wasnt necessary at all.

He is a libertarian and I will communicate with him as little as possible.

I have told friends we are no longer friends due to racism, comments you would not believe.

It hurts to do that, but if someone tells me the reason African Americans are such a problem (didnt know they were) is because when the slaves were brought here originally the slave ships made many stops on their way to USA, and the best slaves were sold first naturally which means the good ones went to the European slave owners and by the time they got to the USA all they had left were the dregs, etc.

This wasnt a joke, and it is also not a joke that I wrote them a letter and said that if this is their attitude, they can consider our friendship over permanently. Never heard from them so I guess I was right.

Hey, I could drop dead tomorrow, I will be god damned if I will drop dead any bigger of a hypocrite than I already am.

I thought, if he were to make any kind of slur about Pres Obama or otherwise, I would have had to tell him to "F*** off" and be done with him!

Thankfully he stopped short of that. Who knows what was in his mind.

It's still out there and is repeated all too often in too many places. I've seen plenty of references to it long after 2007.

I wish I could have engaged the way I wanted to. Even Trump had to concede on this (or did he?). Anyway, some of this guy's heroes have, I'm certain.

And yes, sometimes it feels like 1807 here, e.g., before the civil rights movements! Only property rights matter here.

Local businessman, as I wanted his services. Noticed my wind spinners in the garden, (to keep the birds away) and the first words out of his mouth were "I see you got yer Obama wind farm up, haw, haw,". Further pablum occasionally kept leaking from his mouth until I could decently get him off my property. Needless to say I didn't hire the man.

I wonder how many there are like myself out there? I really don't care what you think politically, I just called you because I wanted your services. But you had to go and spew your right wing mantra talking points every time you start a conversation. With anyone. All the time. Do these folks not get that it's costing them business?

I'm sure their response is that I'm unamerican and they don't want my money anyway.

I hear you, brother! I don't know what their diagnosis is, but it's gotta be something!

Hang tough!
