It's late, I'm tired and cranky, let's get this GOTV rant over with. Do you have any friends?

I may, but they haven't seen me for a while. Earlier tonight I finished another hour of calling Iowa. from CA using DFA's virtual phone bank. But this isn't about me, it's about YOU. You may not be a phone person; you may not be someone willing to knock on doors. We're all different. I could never see myself playing golf. Really, why?
But again, this is about you, and GOTV isn't just about organized phone banks and walking precincts. Got any family/friends in a battleground state? Your cousin you haven't seen since her quinciniera? Your brother's ex-wife who still talks to you, kinda? The sorority sister who's hair you held on that awesome homecoming ? Call them. Ask them if they're voting. Ask them who they're voting for. Get them to the polls.

Do you live in a state where the Senate could turn? Where the Governor is a Rethuglican P.O.S.? Where the school board is cutting pages out of textbooks? Who do you know? The guy on the subway you always talk to? Your barrista? Your fellow Scout leader? Are they voting? Have you asked? That's GOTV at it's best; these are your neighbors and friends. It's not as if you'd be calling strangers.

Do it.

P.S. If you feel up to calling strangers, even if you've never done it before, MoveOn.org has opportunities. I've tried it, it's not fatal, no one has ever managed to hit me through the phone. You get a script and training, and twenty minutes could make a REAL difference. If you make it to minute 21, you know that you have a new skill, and you can even keep going if you want.
