http://www.usatoday.com/story/money/business/2015/03/31/delamaide-banks-warren/70740682/If Citigroup, JPMorgan Chase and other big banks wanted to send a message to congressional Democrats with a "symbolic" withholding of donations, they can rest assured it was heard but not in the way they intended.

"That kind of swagger is a warning shot," Warren wrote to her supporters. "They want a showy way to tell Democrats across the country to be scared of speaking out, to be timid about standing up, and to stay away from fighting for what's right."

"Let's send the biggest banks on Wall Street our own message," Warren said in her fundraising appeal last week. "We're going to keep fighting, and your swagger and your threats won't stop us."
Speaking in New York on Monday, Warren drove home the point again in the lions' den.
"You bet I believe it's a serious threat," Warren said of the banks' effort to sway the debate. "I got news for them: Bring it on."

(86,031 posts)1. That is why I think
she is in the best job for the country right now. She's the next generation of Ted Kennedy and I like her right there where she's comfortable and totally in her element.

(7,018 posts)3. What do you think of her replacing Harry Reid as Democratic Senate leader when
he retires next year?
I think she's not considering it and Schumer seems to be lined up for it so I think her time for that is yet to come, if she feels it will boost her efficacy. I haven't seen her express any desire for that role in the present.

(13,877 posts)2. Awesomeness. Like that last line, and the one before it. No longer just the little
lady from Massachusetts. Could she be that "in their face" as President, I still don't think so. Do love how she's taking them to the woodshed, like an old-fashioned teacher.
