2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forum2016 WI US Senate Election- Feingold-D vs Johnson-R part 2
Russ Feingold was first elected to the U.S. Senate in 1992 unseating two term GOP incumbent Robert Kasten by a 7 percent margin. Feingold won re-election in 1998 against two term Republican US Congressman Mark Neumann by a 3 percent margin. In 2004, Feingold-D won re-election against businessman Tim Michels by a 11 percent margin. In 2010, Feingold-D lost re-election to Ron Johnson-R by a 5 percent margin. Assuming Feingold-D decides to run in 2016- will 2016 WI US Senate Race be similar to 1992,1998,2004,or 2010?

The RW base is rabid here and votes in force - but there are more than enough democrats to overcome them in presidential years.

Johnson must be running a bit scared - his office sent an email a few days ago. Never got one before, so they must be blanketing all regions he is "visiting" in the near future.
As far as I know, he has not had many show and tells aside to donor groups in the area. I live in a Repub stronghold zip code, but due to my own small donor history to Dems, I should not be on his lists, unless they made a buy from the enemy.

(29,616 posts)we were pounded by his advertisements......I don't remember hardly any Russ ones. I think Russ really underestimated Johnson and didn't run a very good campaign at all. He'll do differently this time around.

(22,000 posts)He was a good senator and would help us take back the Senate. If he does run I will be chipping in to help his campaign.
