http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2015/05/08/sources-graham-to-announce-2016-white-house-bid-on-june-1/Graham, a three-term senator from South Carolina, is known as a foreign policy hawk in Congress. Though he is considered a long shot -- and ranks near the bottom in recent polls of declared and potential Republican presidential candidates -- Graham could help drive the debate on national security among a GOP field that includes candidates who sharply question policies ranging from drone strikes to NSA surveillance.
Graham, however, polls better in his home state of South Carolina, which holds the critical first-in-the-South primary. Graham is considering launching the campaign from Seneca, S.C., where he lives. ...
Several other Republicans are considering jumping in the race in the coming weeks. Currently declared candidates include: Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas; Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky; Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida; former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee; former HP head Carly Fiorina; and retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson.
They better trade the clown car in for an SUV!

(11,619 posts)used to figure delegates.
Caucus states would still be able to hand out delegates.
Sates that hold their primaries between March1 and March 15 on a proportional basis. Even if all 45 candidates are on the ballot, Some of them will not get enough votes to even get a delegate.
Republican primaries after March 15 award delegates by winner take all. So if Jeb, or Rubio, or whoever wins one of those states by 1 vote, they get them all.
So even if they split the primaries, even the difference of 1vote will be important.
With all the winner take all states, someone will emerge as a victor.
In formation courtesy of Google and "2016 Republican Primaries: How Delegates Will be Awarded."
I could not find anything as convenient to cover the Democratic Primaries. Democratic approves 2016 Presidential Primary Schedule is helpful.

(54,325 posts)I think it's a great idea.
Chuck Norris and Ted Nugent will both announce on July 4th.
Quickdraw McGraw and Snagglepuss will announce shortly after that.
Then on Labor Day, Joe The Plumber, Bruce Banner, Rooster Cogburn and my corner druggist will round out the roster.
The first Fox Noise debate will be held at Wrigley Field in Chicago to accommodate the crowd--of candidates, that is.
By the end of the year, this will make the 2012 Republican race look like an intimate closed club of intellectuals.

(30,247 posts)Aren't these folks self-aware enough to realize that they don't have a chance in hell of getting their party's nomination? I'm talking about Graham, Huckabee, Fiorina, Carson, etc.

(9,461 posts)very long before people figure out he's gay. I wonder if that is part of the GOP plan. If Lindsey comes out as gay and all the Republicans pretend like they think it's okay, they might hope to turn some of the LGBT vote. I don't know if the Repubs can pretend to be accepting with their track record, but who knows.
The GOP's wide field may be to show the diversity among Republicans. They have a Latino, AA, LGBT, woman and then a plethora of white guys.
