2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumHillary Clinton Comes Out Swinging for Immigration
For a Hillary Clinton that can be cautious on the campaign trail, she has come out swinging by backing full citizenship for potentially millions of undocumented immigrants. Earlier she had spoken out in favor of giving drivers licenses to undocumented immigrants, both issues a certainty to arouse the need for the Republican field to respond. It's all about the Hispanic vote; although it hasn't exerted its full muscle yet, there are still over 25 million registered Latino voters in the U.S. Historically Democrats, this voting block is slowly pulling away, in my opinion, caused by the lack of effort by the Obama administration. The question will be what gets Hispanics out to vote in 2016: in 2014 it was hands down the economy, followed by healthcare, surprisingly, the immigration issue coming in third.

OP
The big question for me is whether she feels that H-1B expansion should be in an immigration bill

It's great to have a candidate speaking to ALL the issues that concern people of color.

... the way it has been in so many of our past bills that pollute it and make these bills not "clean" so that many of us can't support them. She's certainly been on record supporting H-1B, which many of us here don't.

(4,713 posts)3. Your opinion is off the mark regarding Hispanic voters
& the Obama administration. We are well aware of the stonewalling being done by Congress. We are also greatly supporting HRC because of her stance on immigration & the plight of Latinos & POC in this country.

Thanks for your comment and i just hope the Man comes through on immigration to add to his legacy, which is going to be a great one. But he needs to do it now.

order on immigration and the right and courts placing everything on hold don't you?
President Obama has done everything he legally can. The repub controlled congress is the body not doing anything on immigration.
