(10,749 posts)Every one of the GOP candidates is part of the fringe. There is not one person running who is anywhere close to centrist or moderate or mainstream. It's not merely a race to the right, but a race to the bottom. How any American can be other than embarrassed by this motley crew is beyond imagination.

(14,543 posts)Now, most of these idiots actually believe the bullshit.
So, there is some aspect of them doing something they believe in.
But, the way this party has mutated to where it is today, with "conservatives" shoveling money hand over fist into the bubble that reaffirms their mean spirited beliefs, this is a win/win/win situation for these "candidates."
Win - they get to hit the campaign trail, live lavishly and travel on money they pull from the pockets of the conservative masses.
Win - they get to stoke their egos by reveling in the fondling of the conservative masses.
Win - it gets their name out and positions them to make money by getting radio gigs, book deals and speaking opportunities in the conservative circle jerk world.
It really is a sweet deal.
