Newt Gingrich Admits He Was Wrong To Tell John King He Offered Witnesses To ABC News

In what Politico‘s Dylan Byers is calling “a small but important victory” for CNN anchor John King, Republican hopeful Newt Gingrich admitted his campaign did not offer ABC News witnesses to rebut his ex-wife’s ‘open marriage’ claim. “Tonight, after persistent questioning by our staff, the Gingrich campaign concedes now Speaker Gingrich was wrong — both in his debate answer, and in our interview yesterday,” King noted on Wednesday’s John King USA. “Gingrich spokesman R.C. Hammond says the only people the Gingrich campaign offered to ABC were his two daughters from his first marriage.”

Okay, this is what I think has been bizarre about this whole 'witness' part of the story ever since I hear Gingrich mention that 'he had witnesses'.

If a man goes home and tells his wife that he wants to have an 'open marriage' and she says no ...

1) Usually no one else is going to be in the room at the time of the conversation.

2) If Newt proclaims that he never had a conversation with his ex-wife regarding wanting an 'open-marriage' then what exactly would the 'witnesses' have witnessed?

So, it seems like a reporter to begin with would have asked Newt: "A witness to WHAT?"
And that would have caught him!

Daughters of first wife say that he didn't tell second wife that he wanted an open marriage with her and his third wife.

if they're saying they asked him about it after wife #2 spilled the beans, of COURSE he would say no. It's not something you'd admit to your daughters.

I don't know if it's really that important anyway -- he did plenty of other horrid things to wives #1 and #2.

is doesn't matter one goddamn bit. The only thing the mouth breathers will remember is his "schooling" King on national TV, taking it to the 'liberal media'. The fact that he lied is immaterial to them - if they even hear about it.

"misleading" him into making a false statement. That's what the little people surrounding him are for.
