(12,655 posts)It would be interesting to see their contrasting statements on US foreign policy in Syria, since that seems to be the issue for this week's news cycle.

(41,600 posts)And that, my friends, is why Hillary's DNC must keep her off the debate stage for as long as they possibly can.
Compare and Contrast - Bernie wins it every time - hands down. He's been saying the same things for 40 years! Who else can say the same thing? No one. He's never had to "evolve" on any major issue because he was correct on every major issue to begin with.
Go, Bernie!
That's a great video!

As long as we can find the links to Video (C-Span Archives are Good)...then they can't shut them all down even if the "You Tube" caves with "denial of access" or some other excuse. There are ways to do our Own Debates. Particularly with those running who have a long time record of their statements archived out there on the NET! For us Dems that's ALL of our crowd running...Out there Archived. Many of our Repubs also have C-Span or You Tube Archive.
Would be a great Creative Project. Go at it! Great Possibilities.

(12,647 posts)I've always wanted to do one where many were involved and the best of all ideas go into it. I've done it before with other activists outside of DU during the 2008 campaign. We created several videos together using Google Docs. We set up a group and everyone could add to the Doc. Maybe that's something I can organize in the Bernie group. I think it would be a lot of fun and a perfect grass root effort. I'll give it some thought.

(38,613 posts)Clinton's little "fireside chat" moment talking about LGBT rights was so fake-looking it reminded me of an SNL skit.

Classy all the way. Hillary always was shown stating her current positive positions - credit where credit is due, but Bernie is the one who always remains consistent, like a North Star guiding us out of the political wilderness.

(2,375 posts).........silence is frequently more telling than words.
Sometimes I get the feeling they're starting to rethink it all. Maybe Bernie brings it into focus for them.

Watch Hillary demonstrate her lack of integrity or conviction. See her just-in-time evolution from being on the wrong side of so many issues. Hear her bob & weave around questions.
How anyone can support this person, I do not understand.
I think Thom Hartmann played some of this on his show today.

(94,508 posts)No objection to distributing this, but it wasn't, as you state, produced by the Sanders campaign. There is nothing in the video identifying the campaign, and it's not posted on the campaign website or YouTube page. Add to which, it would be counter to Sanders stated pledge not to go negative.

No one cares to distribute anything about your candidate.

(91 posts)This was put together by supporters of more debates. If Clinton doesn't want this, then here's your problem - many CSPAN videos are available to the public and does contain some of Clinton's statements that are in the wrong. Easily can build a few Internet debates videos with the understanding the comparsion and the contrast of the two candidates.
You don't like it because it clearly differentiates Sanders and Clinton, and not in a very flattering way for Clinton.

(5,562 posts)Nobody took a sound byte and misrepresented anything, lied, or called anyone any names. Its simply a video of positions as stated by the candidates.

(94,508 posts)...if you think a YouTube video is going to drive undecided votes to Sanders, knock yourself out. I DO however like honesty. If the campaign didn't produce it, don't say that they did.

(493 posts)Randall Harold Cunningham (born December 8, 1941), usually known as Randy or Duke, is a United States Navy veteran and former Republican member of the United States House of Representatives from California's 50th Congressional District from 1991 to 2005.
Cunningham resigned from the House on November 28, 2005, after pleading guilty to accepting at least $2.4 million in bribes and under-reporting his taxable income for 2004. He pleaded guilty to federal charges of conspiracy to commit bribery, mail fraud, wire fraud and tax evasion. He was sentenced to eight years and four months in prison and was ordered to pay $1.8 million in restitution.[1] On June 4, 2013, Cunningham completed his prison sentence and he currently lives in Arkansas.
Prior to his political career, Cunningham was an officer and pilot in the U.S. Navy for 20 years. Cunningham and Radar Intercept Officer (RIO) William P. "Irish" Driscoll, working as a flight crew, became the only navy flying aces of the Vietnam War. He was one of the most highly decorated United States Navy pilots in the Vietnam War, receiving the Navy Cross once, the Silver Star twice, the Air Medal 15 times, and the Purple Heart . Following the war, Cunningham became an instructor at the U.S. Navy's Fighter Weapons School, better known as TOPGUN, and commanding officer of Fighter Squadron 126 (VF-126), a shore-based adversary squadron at NAS Miramar, California.[2]

(84,711 posts)Thanks...will pass along..
There's plenty of good stuff out there that we can find for those who are more techie than I am to create more Indy Internet "Debates," from the archives on You Tube, C-Span's Booknotes and C-Span's archives of Congressional House & Senate floor speeches that might have been put out on You Tube or other Video Sources to pull together to show what they said then...and hold them to their records for what they say now that they are candidates.
