Hillary Rodham Clinton said Monday she does not need to apologize for using a private email account and server while at the State Department because "what I did was allowed."
In an interview with The Associated Press during a Labor Day campaign swing through Iowa, the front-runner for the Democratic presidential nomination also said the lingering questions about her email practices while serving as President Barack Obama's first secretary of state have not damaged her campaign.
"Not at all. It's a distraction, certainly," Clinton said. "But it hasn't in any way affected the plan for our campaign, the efforts we're making to organize here in Iowa and elsewhere in the country. And I still feel very confident about the organization and the message that my campaign is putting out."

(40,416 posts)This is much ado about nothing, as usual. And I have not stated any opinion on the months away primaries, so one cannot label me a Clinton supporter. I just think this e-mail thing is utter rubbish, just like Benghazi.

(1,464 posts)Instead of apologizing and admitting she was wrong, she blindly ignores facts and keeps insisting that she is right. She making the situation worse for herself by refusing to accept responsibility. One of the many reasons why I don't want her in the Oval Office. She is stubborn and refuses to accept responsibility for any mistakes.
Even if technically not illegal, it certainly was approved protocol for State and went against the clear instructions of the Obama administration to exclusively use government email for government work. She also is threading the needle on legality because she was required to turn over all government work including emails when she left State and she didn't turn over her emails until years after she left State and only upon request from the State Dept.
This is going to do nothing to quiet the email questions she is getting and her poll #s are going to keep going down.

At some point it should be apparent, the r's have her number and know how to play her to get her to hurt herself.
