(6,604 posts)but it still seems to me a case of putting the cart before the horse.
Biden's decision whether to run is still a very open question.

(21,115 posts)Its an absolute insult to the Party he has opposed (though caucussed with) for 40 yrs. He wants our money and influence....but not brave enough to proudly carry the title. Weak sauce.

(21,115 posts)and I bet she is still better than whatever crazy ass republican ran against her!

(99,708 posts)The challenge I see is that Biden is inextricably linked to President Obama whom I really like but I am one voter. HRC gets to choose the popular parts of the Obama presidency and subtly separate herself from the unpopular parts. Biden has no such luxury.

(32,342 posts)I know they are all professional politicians, but I feel it would take some of the shine off of the administration's last year to have two key Obama people running against each other in the primary.

(6,409 posts)Why not? There's nothing wrong with Biden. I much prefer Sanders, and I would go for Clinton over Biden, but I would not be "sad" to see him as the nominee. It's not like he's a Dixiecrat or something like that.

(39,343 posts)If her problems don't go away, he'll be tagged by the coach to come in as her backup and try to win the nomination.
I hope to see him in the race before the end of the year.

(31,780 posts)I really think we need someone who is not currently in Washington D.C. an has never held an elected position in D.C.
New times require new leadership and a shift from 'talk' to action.

(47,803 posts)Mixed feelings. I like him a lot. Prefer him over Clinton. Think he's a really decent guy.
But some of his ambiguities and loyalties and record make me less than enthusiastic that he will do much to shake up the awful elements of the status quo Oilgarchy.

--Cocaine abusing son kicked out of the Navy.
--Enabling Clarence Thomas and participating in the brutal excoriation of Anita Hill. Refusing to allow witnesses to testify to corroborate her charges...he is the man most responsible for enabling Thomas's ascension to the Supreme Court.
--Neil Kinnock. Neil Kinnock. And MORE Neil Kinnock. Copycat/pants on fire.
--TWO AVMs. How's his health? TWO, two--TWO AVMs.
It'll get ugly. And it's a crying shame.
The American people have said NO to Joe twice already. He can't even break double digits when the rubber meets the road. He just isn't a first choice. Never has been, never will. Great supporting actor, though.

(24,392 posts)As such, I would be fine with Biden and he seems like a genuinely nice and smart guy but I don't think he's got much of a chance- he's never run well in the multiple primaries he's been in and he'd basically be occupying the same space ideologically as Hillary (which could unnecessarily weaken Hillary, who I still think is our strongest candidate in the general).

(22,872 posts)whole heartedly.. my hope is that it is Martin O'Malley.. but I would be thrilled to vote for Joe Biden also..
We have GREAT candidates.. love them all

(22,271 posts)to thank for Clarence Thomas so, not only no but hell no. Also real cozy with the credit card companies and worked to pass the bankruptcy bill so you and I (not being multi-national corporates and all) find it much more difficult to file. There's LOTS more where that came from. He's just as much of a corporate shill as Hillary is.
