One thing Clinton, Sanders and O'Malley supporters might agree on. The Media Sucks.

I work at home and often have the teevee machine on in the background. And I read.

And I'm just gonna say it. The majority of the mainstream media and the journalists and talking head pundits who are in the "conventional wisdom bubble" are shallow morons, who either are incapable of free thought, or are incredibly lazy or are programmed robots -- or all of the above.

Supporters of each candidate may have their separate (perhaps contradictory) complaints.

I am fed up with hearing them say in a perfunctory way "Sanders is gaining in the polls and drawing large crowds" but then dismiss it as "discontent with Clinton" with nary a mention of WHY else people might be supporting him -- and God forbid mentioning the issues he addresses otehr than perhaps a dismissive "populist anger."

I'm sure Clinton supporters get fed up hearing about e-mails, e-mails and how bad she is doing and all the otehr memes.

O'Malley supporters may simply be waiting to hear something, anything about their candidate.

If these jerkwads were doing their jobs, they'd do something besides listening and parroting each other, actually dong some reporting, discuss their positions and proposals, and talk to voters.

But I suppose its easier to regurgitate.

Yet our media will NEVER tell the people this.

That fascism, textbook definition, is the GOP plan is being not inky totally ignored but actively encouraged...what else to make of the uncritical free advertising for the likes of Trump and Cruz and now lately Carson...all fucking 17 they have lined up in those great numbers hoping one fascist emerges for an outside chance to win the final battle?

LOCAL media, that's a different story. Lots of reporting from Iowa and NH, covering the candidates. Check recent posts here: http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=forum&id=1281

than they did of covering the 2014 race. Their coverage gift wrapped the election for Joni Ernst.

from my point of view, simply and pretty thoroughly covering Governor O'Malley's appearances. No ernst apparent, fortunately!

they seem to have high self-esteem, which is nice.

On edit, our politicians are partly to blame. They rarely provide serious discussions of the issues we elect them to address. Clinton, Sanders, and O'Malley are better than most in that regard, but I would hate to be a journalist trying to get any politician to seriously address a serious issue.

Somedays I think all the hoopla over Sanders big crowds became a message to the media: talk about Sanders big crowds.

Somedays I think it's a Bilderberger plot to protect the capitalism that has served them so well.

(I'll have to don my foil chapeau at this point), but the dumbing of huge numbers of people through TV is clearly a major part of the plan, if not the Plan itself.

People who respond to programming criticism with "Change the channel!" "Just turn it off!" "Don't watch it, then!" just aren't getting it: this manipulation of hundreds of channels of broadcast and cable is actively strangling the ability of the U.S. to govern ourselves.
