Some time back, I asked what DU was like in the last Presidential primary...

I was told (in so many words) it got ugly.

After witnessing this primary on DU (especially this past week for some reason), I'm finding the Presidential primaries on DU are more than ugly: they're scary!

My hope is that by the time the general election rolls around, most of these be fences will be mended. I find it hard to believe, though.

But the constant bashing of Sanders supporters is personal and it is directed against the people on this website.

Not sure who is left to bash us?

But hey why not complain about something.

volunteer to participate on here at DU you are hardly getting an accurate percentage. Voluntary internet polling is unscientific. I keep seeing that number 85% bandied about especially by disgruntled Hillary supporters.

a significant portion of these posters are sock puppets for right wingers.
A significant portion are Greens, whose agenda seems to be destroy the Democratic party so people will see how bad the republicans are and all vote for them
The rest are malcontents who aren't even registered to vote.

There's not a lot of positivity around here , except in the lounge. But the sample of DU Primaries that votes is so insignificant in the overall electorate that there's not a lot of damage that can be done.

So shine on, you crazy diamonds

I had not thought about the Green Party, more along the lines of CPUSA or Socialist or another left party. The ironic thing is, very very few people in this particular sub-forum are going to change their minds. Each to their own.

hillary once. i wish i could find the link. she said on 3 different occasions (one was to CNN) that she and McCain had the experience and all obama had was a speech. i wish i remembered more of it. anyway i went nuts and called her a nasty name.

this time around i'm supporting bernie but will not bash hillary unless she comes up with something outrageous against bernie like she did with obama.

if she is the nominee i will vote for her.

The last primary was horrid, but I managed to stay out of it because it was 2 DLCers fighting over who gets to have their "legacy" first.

This primary is shaping up to be legendary- an actual left/right rift in the party playing out. The stances on issues are so starkly different that there will be no going back.

country and so did many of us on this site. The Hill supporters I scrabbled with anyway.

I started liking her again at the end of the Convention when she endorsed him. And, then he chose Hillary for his SOS.. and she did an excellent job. I was rooting for her as well as the President.

I held no animosity. Same with the 2004 Primary when I was a Deaniac. When that was over the Kerry peeps welcomed me to work together for our country.

That's what it's about.. not my personal fee fees.. our country our planet.

This is ugly on a whole new level.

To be honest, I didn't see some of it coming.

I'm not sure what the level of animosity between Clinton and Obama supporters was; I know it was there, but since I was a supporter of neither, I was on the outside.

One of the reasons I was on the outside was because I was appalled that Democrats, who are supposed to support justice for all those groups that aren't at the top of the white male christian ladder, would prioritize them, pick a side, and then try to promote one over the other.

I thought it would be different this time; that, at least, the racial tension wouldn't be there.

I was a fool.
