(13,685 posts)She doesn't inspire people like Bernie does. If she hadn't voted to invade Iraq, she might have won in 2008.
Our best hope for a woman president is Warren. Hopefully, Bernie will have her as his VP.

(5,937 posts)and with people who take early polls plummets. Middle America, etc.. will vote for Trump against HC if he was the nom. Not to mention the one thing people on both side have in common is they do not want another Bush or a Clinton.
RobertEarl
(13,685 posts)The rage she inspires from our enemies would be too much.
They are hoping she is our nominee. They fear Bernie and the fact that the largest segment of likely voters -independents- will flock to Bernie and vote for him.

(850 posts)alright, I think the opinion was made by an HRC fan that isn't open to discussion--her statement has already determined who will win the primary.
Moreover, if anyone were to disagree, they would in fact be harped on by HRC fans.
We could, however, discuss these new poll results;

(16,286 posts)The right, the teaparty, GOP , MSM and many FAKE Bernie fans are working day and night to destroy Hillary and make sure a right winger is president.
I say fake Bernie fans because no true fan of the wildly liberal, like me, Bernie Sanders, nobody who knows who Bernie REALLY is, would ever support actions that could result in a con in the WH.
And while I wouldnt have believed it in the past, the non story about email (wouldnt last to the evening news if it broke in the morning if it was about any other human being alive) might bring her down all the way.
And if she is not the nominee and Bernie is and the GOP then changes gears to viciously attack him for being a commie socialist (I am a real Democratic Socialist, like Bernie, so I am talking about how the assholes will frame it) he could very well lose.
And we all lose.

But things are so off the wall over in the GOP I think democrats really have a chance. I don't know if that possibility is really limited to just Clinton. I think Biden, OMalley and Sanders (listed alphabetically) all could have shots

Hopeful, but more because the GOP clown car will explode, but never underestimate Money and Fox News, not the stupidity of those Reagan Democrats Hillary is catering to.
"She will be one of the best Presidents. "
the person who supports the tpp, Keystone XL and war with Iran will NOT be a good president, period. Whatever good that occurs will occur the same way we forced Obama to evolve. She will need pressure from the left from the first second to be worth a damn.

You mean snapchat jokes and "what, with a cloth"?
Or the reboot, the rollout of the planned spontenaiety?
Perhaps you mean dancing the nae nae.

(1,810 posts)And it's in really bad taste what you are doing. I'm quickly realizing it is acceptable here to make women's looks the issue. Pretty low. Have fun.
Warren DeMontague
(80,708 posts)"what, with a cloth?" was not "gravitas" and it was not the smooth political A-gamer we've been promised.
Where's the gravitas? It hasn't been on display. Her own campaign has said they're going to try to "roll out" a new more spontaneous candidate, Debbie Wasserman-Schultz talks about the need for "retail candidates" as if the candidate is, as the Washington Post put it, a new brand of detergent.
Know what would be gravitas? Actual leadership on issues she right now won't touch with a ten foot pole, like medical marijuana- things that her constituents keep asking her about. Ditching the fucking script and poll-testing and coming out and taking bold stances that might even upset a few of her lobbyists' apple carts.
Whatever her highly paid experts are telling her "in no uncertain terms, can you ever say THAT", she should say it.

(80,708 posts)She looked like a deer in the headlights there not because I'm a mean misogyny mans out to get her with an unflattering picture, she looked that way because she pretty clearly biffed that exchange.
And if you look at the numbers, a lot of her problems started after that.

Wow... this circular framing of yours leaves much to be desired.
Warren DeMontague
(80,708 posts)She looked bad during that session because she DID badly.
You think that whole thing was an example of the expert political instincts, the ability to eat attacks for breakfast like cheerios, that we've been promised?
I don't. Ed Rendell didn't.
Denial isn't helping you guys.
boston bean
(36,219 posts)I guess you think it does and use images from a cankle site to do so.
Warren DeMontague
(80,708 posts)looking at the blog I don't see anything about cankles.
(edited: Upon further inspection I found them, under the tags, although the blog post in question is about the news conference, not her appearance)
The implication you seem to be making, here, is that anyone who had a problem with the way she handled that whole exchange "what, with a cloth", must be out to get Hillary and her "cankles", or something.
Which I guess would include everyone from the Washington Post to Ed Rendell. Hell, even Hillary has acknowledged that she didn't do a stellar job that afternoon in Vegas. Is she out to get herself?
I'm not sure where I could find a site with a picture from that exchange, that would be acceptable. Here's the daily mail:
How about the Washington Post, again. They okay?
The subthread is about "gravitas". Is this gravitas?
Edited: I changed the image upthread to the Washington Post, lest anyone think I'm a big fan of "cripes suzette"

(36,219 posts)democratic candidates. Whose gonna stop you. Not me. I may comment on it though.

(80,708 posts)Or anything except the lame way she handled that press conference, displaying anything but 'gravitas' in the process.
What was unflattering was the way she tried to handle the questions.

(80,708 posts)In the context of your OP, though, what i want is pretty simple- if assertion A is true, and she wins the nomination, I want assertion B - she wins the WH - to be true as well.
As such I 'want' Hillary to run a better campaign, although I don't necessarily buy that she's our strongest potential choice.
