Clinton falters in new national poll

Source: The Hill

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is faltering in her bid for the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination, a new national poll of Democratic-leaning voters shows.

Clinton's support has fallen 21 points since July, from 63 to 42 percent, according to a Washington Post/ABC News poll released Monday, dropping below 50 percent for the first time.

Support for Clinton has particularly eroded among women, an integral demographic for her campaign, falling from 71 percent two months ago to 42 percent now.

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), who gained 10 percentage points since July, now stands at 24 percent support in the poll, while Vice President Joe Biden has gained 9 points amid increasing interest in a potential White House bid, putting him at 21 percent now.

What I think is wrong is they are all old pros, been there done this too many times. She thinks that is experience, but what she needs are new faces and new blood, someone pumped up with excitement to put their candidate across the line and into the Presidency for their first time. What a rush. You can't buy that kind of thing with salaries.

The negative of that is we see posts like the one you are replying to that shows they aren't knowledgeable about that to which they are speaking. In the end it will be good news. A small number of these political neophytes will stick around as they will like the partys platform. In ten years they will have a much better understanding and realize emotion doesn't run the game. The campaign is being run as if a minor gaffe is the worst possible thing that could ever happen. So Clinton comes off as stilted because she's more-or-less reading a focus-group derived script instead of being herself.

Interacting directly with the public en-masse is a risk. The campaign appears to not be willing to take that risk.

The same problems apply to prevent defenses in both cases. You give up a lot of little losses to prevent the knockout blow...but if the clock has too much time on it when you start, you just lose by a series of small increments instead of one big one.

Since I disdain the Clintons, I hope they keep this up right until it costs Hillary the nomination.
