Bernie Sanders fan decks out his Tesla as the "Bern Machine"

Bernie Sanders fan decks out his Tesla as the "Bern Machine"

MANASSAS, Virginia -- If you see Paul Sasso on the road, you might love him or you might hate him.

"We're about 5-to-1 for thumbs up to middle fingers," said Sasso, standing next to his Tesla Model S at the Prince William County Fairgrounds in Manassas on Monday. "We're doing pretty good."

Sasso's car is wrapped, racing style, in Bernie-Sanders-baby-blue, the color of the the Democratic presidential candidate's campaign t-shirts, and emblazoned with the words: "Bernie 2016."

Sasso started driving the "Bern Machine" at the beginning of the month in San Diego, where he lives with his family and where he and his wife collaborated on the car's design, which cost Sasso about $3,500.

Is the typical Bernie fan an upper middle class/rich person class driving a 70,000 dollar electric car with a custom 3500 dollar paint job?

That could explain a few things I guess.

1. This is a typical fan who got shafted by Hillary's pals on Wall Street and is fed up.

If you actually read the article instead of playing Fox style gotcha games it does indeed explain a lot of things:

Sasso, who is trained as an architect but decided to get an art degree after his closing his business hit hard by the recession, named raising the minimum wage, reining in Wall Street, reforming the tax code and fighting climate change at the top of his concerns for this election. He believes that Sanders is electable.

"It's going to take everybody who likes Bernie really doing all they can," he said. "This is me doing all I can."

You left out the best part btw:

Sander's name recognition is rising. A new CBS News Battleground Tracker poll in Iowa and New Hampshire showed him 10 points and 20 points ahead of Hillary Clinton in the two states, respectively, and Sanders' campaign has consistently said they believe those numbers will only go up as Sanders continues to campaign.

You're welcome!

Go Bernie!

We are electing candidates, not supporters.
Hillary's top supporters are Wall Streeters. And that is who she will cater to.

Is the typical Bernie fan an upper middle class/rich person class driving a 70,000 dollar electric car with a custom 3500 dollar paint job?

We are not fans, we are supporters. We don't gush about his wardrobe or whatever. And, looking at Hillary's donor list - to imply that Bernie's supporters are all "upper middle class/rich" is ridiculous. And guess what? The top Hillary donors have all intentions of stripping away even more from her less well-to-do "fans". The TPP and Wall Street will neatly take care of that. Finish up what NAFTA and welfare "reform" started.

Polls best with the richest democrats. Bernie is very popular with the white upper class.

6. I am a Bernie supporter living on my Social Security.

I watched a couple of my IT jobs go to H-1B visa holders. And those of my friends.

Hillary does not mean to do well by me, she means to do well by her top donors.
Hillary wants the votes. IMO, if she is elected, the Third Way will get right to work pushing down those people with less income.
It is a long way until the first vote is cast.

And I did not choose to support Bernie because of polls. I chose to support Bernie in part because of Bernie, and in part because I will not support a candidate who is for fracking, more H-1B visas, more war, cluster bombs, and corporate "trade" agreements. Who lied outright about being under sniper fire. Who helped oversee the increase in the incarceration of minorities. Who hangs around with and admires Henry Kissinger - Kissinger is a profoundly evil man. The list goes on. Do you really think I can stop considering all of that and toss it aside because of some fucking polls?

Implying there is something nefarious about owning a car or whatever.
Yeah, I will just start supporting Hillary Right Now! because of one of Bernie's supporters.

Look at the top tier of Hillary's supporters. They are only in this for the profits to be made from the 99%............

And now that Super PAC is saying that it was very bad of Bernie to have participated in a deal that brought cheap (or free?) Venezuelan oil to poor freezing people in the Northeast. Because Hillary's backers did not make any profit on that oil. Even though, of course, the poor people would not have been able to afford other oil. First things first. Kinda reminds me of how Hillary's buddy Kissinger was rumored to have referred to the poor as "useless eaters". Some say they heard it, others did not. But that is certainly the attitude I am seeing.
