Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush thinks Sen. Marco Rubio is ready to be vice president and he shared those thoughts with presumptive Republican nominee Mitt Romney, he said Wednesday.
Bush said he has been a huge fan of Rubio's for years and hopes that Romney chooses him. He said he made his pitch to Romney in a recent conversation, but the former Massachusetts governor didn't reveal which direction he was leaning. Bush said the choice is a personal one and respects Romney for keeping his thoughts close to his vest.
Romney has said he is considering Rubio, a freshman senator who was elected in 2010.
In an interview with The Associated Press, Bush also criticized President Barack Obama, saying he believes he has deliberately chosen to divide rather than lead as a campaign tactic.

(113,003 posts)be your running mate because he's from the same state. By pretending like he's behind Rubio as VP now, it assures Rubio's national fan base gets behind Jeb solidly for 2016.

(21,078 posts)due to the hate on both sides of Scott and most of the legislature down here, Jeb could have a problem with Florida. We don't have warm feelings or memories of him. It will be interesting.

(8,223 posts)Usually there is a reason that a Bush* tosses someone under the bus. Why would he want to make a Sarah Palin out of Marco?
Running for President and losing in the general election is usually a political career ender. Running for VP on the ticket and losing is often the political road to nowhere.
Perhaps it is simpler, perhaps JEB would simply like the Senate seat.
