New Clinton super PAC ad evokes Ronald Reagan

“This is not Ronald Reagan’s Republican Party. In a generation, the GOP has gone from ‘Morning in America’ to ‘the American Dream is dead’,” Priorities USA Action executive director Anne Caprara said in a statement. “Watching tonight’s debate, you might wonder why candidates with such vitriolic feelings towards working Americans, women, immigrants, LGBT Americans, and anyone they find remotely different would even want to be president.”

One of Mrs. Clinton's super PACs wishes the GOP candidates were more like Ronald Reagan.

Wait, what???

More like Ronald Reagan? More inclusive of LGBT people ... like Ronald Reagan was??

Tear Down This Myth: The Right-Wing Distortion of the Reagan Legacy

So, to recap, Mrs. Clinton's surrogates are saying Bernie Sanders is a Communist and the GOP should emulate Reagan.

Got it.

The PAC is holding the republicans to the standard of their idol.

The ad is holding them to the public persona of their idol and endorsing it. Every sentence that ever liberal speaks should begin with, "the failed Reagan policies" until the false Reagan legacy is torn down.

Not everything has to be an attack. In this case, you are only half right (which is an improvement).

"The ad is holding them to the public persona of their idol" (correct) "and endorsing it" (incorrect). There is no endorsement.

It's an endorsement in the sense that the ad suggests we could all get along swimmingly if only you Republicans of today were more like Saint Ronnie. Unfortunately, today's establishment Democrats are pretty similar to Ronnie, and Ronnie was no saint.

likened himself to Reagan. I agree. Every sentence in that ad should have started with "the failed Reagan policies."

Reagan WAS sane. That doesn't mean he wasn't a shitbag who ruined our country, it's just that he looks sane next to those idiots.

Reagan's Trickle Down Economics that started the ball rolling, and we don't need to be setting him as some standard of saneness. As far as I'm concerned he was just as bat shit crazy as today's republicans. He is the reason we are in the mess we are in, and until we reverse course economically we will continue see our middle class disappear and more Americans slip into poverty.
