In Donald Trump's America, everyone speaks English.
When asked by CNN's Dana Bash during Wednesday night's GOP debate about his criticism of Jeb Bush for speaking Spanish on the campaign trail, the Republican front-runner and real estate mogul responded:
We have to have assimilation to have a country. We have to have assimilation. I'm not the first one to say this, Dana. We have had many people over the years for many, many years saying the same thing. This is a country where we speak English, not Spanish.
In true troll fashion, Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton tweeted some insight.

La libertad incluye el derecho de hablar en cualquier idioma. Eso nos hace fuerte como país y es algo que debemos celebrarno denigrar.

For those who didn't understand her, Clinton said: "Freedom includes the right to speak in any language. That makes us strong as a country, and it is something that we should celebratenot denigrate."

(1,074 posts)Someone needs to troll on jeb bush every time he says his brother kept us safe! Excuse me...but 9/11 happened on his brother's watch! More and more people need to say that!

(10,345 posts)because most don't know the difference between a simple counterpoint and actual trolling.
in this example, Hillary had given a crafty counterpoint.
this is not trolling.
to troll is to bully and to harass. neither of which Hillary has done here.
/end rant

(18,115 posts)in order to get a rise or reaction out of the target. And it is actually "trawling" as in trawling the waters with chub trying to get bites.
See, I think that Trump may actually be trolling the GOP with his run. Of course his ego is so inflated that he may not even understand his role and what he is doing.

(10,345 posts)being something you're not to get a rise out of others? bully = troll
again, I think she was just making a counterpoint.

(18,115 posts)But there is a difference, imo, between a bully and a troll. Trolls are out to get people personally. They just want to blend in and dirupt the discussion and get a rise.
Bullies target people personally and seek to cause emotional distress and harm.

What the Republicans don't want is freedom for everyone. They only want freedom
to tell everybody else what to do and how to do it--and make the laws to enforce
doing things their way. That's what freedom means to them.
