Bill Maher backs Hillary Clinton

Bill Maher sounds off on - and partially agrees with - Donald Trump

I like the Bernie Sanders/Elizabeth Warren wing of the party, but it's going to be Hillary. I always say her slogan, "Are you ready for Hillary," is a perfectly accurate slogan. Am I ready for Hillary? Yes. Am I enthused about it? No.

It's like getting a shot. "Are you ready?" Yes, I'm ready to get the shot. It's not exciting and I'm not really looking forward to it, but yes, I'm ready. So I'm ready for Hillary.

He could have helped her more by saying nothing. In fact, it could be interpreted as an endorsement of Sanders. Hard to tell.

Maher's been off for summer and is behind. On this topic he kept saying 'BARNEY FRANK' instead of BERNIE in the rushed, brief discussion mainly with Rep. Donna Edwards (D-MD) the only substantial political figure on the panel.

My head almost exploded when Maher said 'Barney Frank' TWO MORE TIMES in this part which nobody corrected.
Unless Maher was spaced which he didn't appear to be, I don't think it was a mistake. Barney Frank is obviously not a 'candidate' for one thing. And Maher had Bernie on his show just several months ago, and also used Bernie in a clip like others for his DC Live Special show this past year.

Re errors, Maher made a point to correct a statement by Rick Santorum who'd been on the show recently a week or so later. But not his own error on a very important subject. Barney Frank now works for a bank, and has made recent HRC surrogate type comments about Bernie. Go figure.
My view of Maher was lowered even more by this act. His timid, reticent endorsement of Clinton now is what it is. Meh.

...is still in development. "We knew there would be a demand, but failed to anticipate the rapidly growing craze for throwing people UNDER the bus rather than seating people in them", said one anonymous industry spokesman. When asked about the phenomenon, Howard Dean had this to say. "Thanks Hillary!"

I was expecting, especially based on the glowing interview Mr. Maher had with Mr. Sanders, that he would be a fan. I supposed Mr. Maher is part of the "realist" wing of liberalism. Hey, he may be ultimately right, but I disagree.

Last few weeks. Surprised me since Bernie is ok with pot and thats his big issue. Maybe under all the liberal stuff he says, he likes how moderate Obama and Hillary are with money.

Civil Rights Act. And remember, LBJ tried to end the war in Vietnam (that's why he did not run for re-election, because he wanted to concentrate on the pace talks)---but Henry Kissinger derailed the peace talks on purpose to help Nixon win. Another Nixon dirty trick.

That is what passes for an endorsement?

To me it sounds more like... "yeah, I think she is probably going to get the nomination so I guess I am going to support her."

If I ever saw an article with an "endorsement" that was that weak I would Never post it as a positive. I would quietly pass it by and look for something that sounded vaugely enthusiastic.

The desperation in posting such a weak endorsement is manifestly obvious.
