(12,685 posts)I like Bernie. I used to do a radio show for Air America and I would have Bernie on every week. This was before we were all feeling the Bern. Hes always impressed me as an unusual politician, in that he just pretty much told you what he thought about something. There was no B.S. Theres a real authenticity there to him, which I think is pretty much lacking in everybody else I see on either side at this point.

(62,325 posts)campaign is over. If you haven't seen it yet, the reaction by a LU alumni, now a pastoral adviser, was also memorable and well worth listening to.
This too is an incredible sermon which has blown away most of those who listened to it or read the transcript. This thread at Reddit has provided the transcript and the comment section is well worth reading also:

(23,867 posts)He's embracing the whole country, not just rich donors, or white folks. This is at least nominally what this country stands for.
What I'm hoping from this election, regardless of the results, is that it shines a light on just how lopsided our political arena has become.

(9,289 posts)is not that she can't argue effectively about policy. It is that Sanders is so authentic and Clinton comes across as anything but authentic. Side by side, it could be quite striking.

(35,568 posts)The contrast would make people realise how far to the right the party has moved . That is why they do not want debates .

(50,983 posts)Just a real and honest guy. That would be a huge start on reclaiming the nation. Bernie's proposals actually would make the country Great Again. We must get this done.

(8,958 posts)Hey Trof, long time no speak!
I watched about 15 minutes of it and was very impressed, this guy seems like the real deal.
He shamed them, but did it in a way.. well, you just have to watch it.
After seeing it I now have a strong theory on why the DNC does not want any debates
