2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumThe TPP will not be finalized by the time the first debate finally rolls around
Keystone decision could come before it- and if it does, the timing sure will be interesting. Undoubtedly, both will be brought up, bringing into play the interesting situation of seeing O'Malley and Sanders in strong opposition, leaving Hillary in an awkward place. It'll be interesting to see what other subjects are brought up, but those two are pretty compelling.

OP
After the finalizations, will she start evolving? Or, would that be revolving?

I know. If it goes through she can then say, "It's been decided" and "It wasn't my decision".

but my boss hasn't weighed in yet
but i can't speak against a policy i helped to develop
bottom line if you're not or you do not feel free to speak your mind on the relevant issues, then you don't belong in the race

(114,904 posts)3. no, she won't evolve on this. She's simply sidestepping the issue.
She is very pro-TPP.

(12,685 posts)4. Does O'Malley have a history of VOTING against trade agreements?
Because talk is cheap... especially in politics.

How, exactly, would he vote against a federal law?

(3,655 posts)6. I ran across this gem from 2007 last night
The tone of the debate, which was sponsored by NBC News, had been established before the candidates walked onto the stage at Drexel University in Philadelphia, when Senator Barack Obama of Illinois proclaimed in an interview over the weekend that now is the time to begin drawing tough distinctions with Mrs. Clinton.
He did so almost immediately, accusing Mrs. Clinton of changing positions whenever its politically convenient, pointing to the North American Free Trade Agreement, torture and the war on Iraq. Now, that may be politically savvy, but I dont think that it offers the clear contrast that we need, Mr. Obama said. I think what we need right now is honestly with the American people about where we would take the country.
Edwards weighs in:
Senator Clinton says that she believes she can be the candidate for change, but she defends a broken system thats corrupt in Washington, D.C., Mr. Edwards said.
on licenses for undocumented immigrants:
She was challenged on what she said first by Senator Christopher Dodd of Connecticut and then by Mr. Edwards. Unless I missed something, Senator Clinton said two different things in the course of about two minutes just a few minutes ago, and I think this is a real issue for the country, Mr. Edwards said.

Isn't it funny how some forget what happened last time around? Obama attacking Hillary for flip flopping on trade agreements. Hillary taking both sides of the license issue.
And they wonder why Americans want something different.
