and am even worse at dictation. I could not find a summary anywhere and it would probably take me an hour to do it. I think it went like, To Sanders: you talk about defending the rights of people against corps, what about unborn babies? Sanders: I respect your opinion, but what about the rights of women to deal with their bodies without govt telling them what they have to do with their bodies. Lots of applause. sanders: also, republicans cut snap and assistance to mothers with babies via snap.

(meme from some threads I've seen around DU)

No passion, just carefully choosing his words so as not to offend anyone, telling each gathering what they want to hear, just going through the motions, weather-vaning it, doesn't really want to be president, just wants to see his name in the headlines, ...

Sanders doesn't seem to care if he loses..., 9/20/15
http://www.democraticunderground.com/1251609286

Actually, it is very positive about Bernie Sanders, for example, "you get the sense that it would never occur to him to tell anything but the truth. ... While the rest of the field prioritizes victory, he’ll stay loyal to his favorite theme, even at the cost of defeat."

But it still bothers me, the assertion that he doesn't seem to care. I agree that he is unlikely to compromise his principles in order to win. But I vehemently disagree that he doesn't care, or seem to care, if he loses. My take on Sanders is that he thinks his best chance on winning (and I agree), is by sticking to his principles. If he starts weather-vaning it and triangulating it, he's going to lose half or more of his support.

And in the above, just to be clear, I don't think Sanders sticking to his principles is some cynical political calculation. Sticking to his principles is fundamentally who he is. That he probably sees it as more helpful than hurtful to his chances of becoming president is secondary at most, but I have no doubt that he (and I) see it that way too.

Anyway, I hope this explains somewhat my passion in bringing up the topic, though I agree with you that it is and was off topic. I really am sorry I brought it up in a back-handed, negative, disparaging to DU members, and douche-bag way in #10.

I have a female friend who doesn't vote, thinks all politicians are the same and the little people don't matter and they all do Wall Street's bidding and all that so what's the use in voting?

I've been working on her to get to know Bernie Sanders and that he's not like that. So as not to overdo it, I've sent her only one video clip so far ... Bernie chastising Alan Greenspan for saying how great the economy is. Please forgive if this is Off Topic (but in case you or someone reading this thread is curious about the one I'm referring to ) :

Anyway, like I say, I don't want to overdo it and submerge her (or you ) in Bernie video clips and annoy her, so I've only sent one so far. But your OP will be my 2nd Bernie video clip that I send her. Probably a lot more relevant to her and her 13 yo daughter than one on macroeconomics, like my first one. Peace and Thanks!

Sanders is very cool. Some people here might tell you I think differently, but whatever. I just get upset when we attack our own especially with smears and such. There is no reason to break down any democrat to build up Sanders. I know I am pretty safe in saying that is what he believes also. You don't need to fear submerging me, I have been following Sanders for a long time, decades even.

of the Republican budget. Those were Bernie supporters bussed in who cheered most of the time during his comments.

They just don't get it that they have a moral failing when they demand that every fetus be carried to term and then abandon the babies once they are born. They can get all worked up and indignant about a blastocyst but suddenly become cold hearted when it comes to helping an actual infant.

He just demonstrated the way he works with others across the board. Acknowledges disagreements up front, does not back down, but moves on to find common ground.
