NJ What if the Democrats still have control? Whats your scenario then?
NORQUIST Obama can sit there and let all the tax cuts]lapse, and then the Republicans will have enough votes in the Senate in 2014 to impeach. The last year, hes gone into this huddle where he does everything by executive order. Hes made no effort to work with Congress.
NJ The Republicans seem more divided over tax policy than in the past. The House Republicans didnt want to pass the payroll-tax holiday bill, even though that was a tax cut. Senator Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania proposed revenue increases as a super-committee member. Do you think the party is in disarray over its take on taxes?
NORQUIST Those are different things. Toomey is deciding on which unicorn hed like if unicorns existed, and youre asking me if Im unhappy about his choice of a pet? There arent any unicorns. The Democrats are not going to make permanent what they said was their nonnegotiable plan for a 25 percent corporate and individual tax rate. The Democratic Party cannot physiologically do that.
NJ So you dont get mad when Republicans propose tax increases if you feel they wont come to fruition?

(2,049 posts)Obama should deal directly with him, publicly, going over the heads of repugnants in congress and show the stupid 2010 voters once and for all who the unelected boss of the repugnants really is. Couldn't we save some money from the budget by laying off the useless congressmen who have signed their votes away to Nortwisted?

Of course, that's a FACT, something which eludes most Republican talking points and nearly all TEA baggers' arguments ...

(30,994 posts)making a sitting congress critter take an oath against the levying of taxes, as per their fucking JOB, defies their congressional mandate.
I have many other festive and interesting things I'd pay to see happen to Grover, but the TOS here prevents me from sharing my vivid and horrifically hilarious fantasies.
