Report: Biden to skip first Dem debateBy Jordan Fabian * October 01, 2015 * The Hill
Vice President Joe Biden is not expected to participate in the first Democratic presidential debate on October 13, CNN reported Thursday, a sign he is delaying his decision whether to jump into the 2016 race.
Biden is not preparing for the debate, which will take place in Las Vegas, according to several Democrats who spoke to CNN. Instead, the vice president is likely to announce his 2016 plans in the second half of October.
Should Biden skip the debate, it would further fuel speculation about one of the biggest unknown factors in the Democratic presidential primary.

That being said this Biden thing is really
getting sour and has reached its expiration date about a month ago.. and the public can smell it.

(19,326 posts)In their "coverage of the Democratic Primary" they need something to say besides
the daily update on Hillary's emails, so Biden is a ghost candidate, so they can keep pretending
Sanders doesn't exist.

(3,795 posts)Off of Bernie's policy differences from Hillary Clinton.
The media will have an imaginary horse race between Clinton and Biden for as long as they can (and perhaps even longer). It might not allow some people (since most people simply do not pay attention) the time to even THINK about voting for Bernie. NO doubt that's the exact plan.
TPTB will include Biden in polling for as long as possible, and they will NOT point out Biden policies and past actions that might detract from his support or that differ from Bernie (or Hillary).
When the "results" come in from our primaries we might not have too many polls without Biden included. In our day and age of electronic voting that makes things much easier for one particular candidate. Democratic Leadership are certainly creating a primary where no trick will be spared that's for sure.
Shit or get off the pot Biden. It's beyond ridiculous at this point, and our Democratic process deserves much more respect than Party Leaders are giving it during this primary process. Biden doesn't even have to run to help the Establishment. He just has to allow himself to be used to muddy the waters.
And, Bernie supporters every day is important. We have LOTS of educating to do. We're not going to get much help (but we knew that from day 1).

(15,435 posts)Maybe, even though it hurts me to say this, he seems to being used or is a part of a distraction to keep people from supporting Bernie. Don't think it's working. People are getting set on which candidate they want to support.
Just too weird for me.

(11,785 posts)into "Biden to skip first Dem debate"? I wouldn't be surprised if Biden does skip the debate, but going from "CNN talked to some Dems" (Which ones? Would they know whether BIden's preparing?) to "not expected to participate" to a headline that makes it sound like Biden's definitively said he's skipping the debate is full of journalism suck.

take the story.
If I was putting money on it though, I'd bet he'll skip the first debate.
