n honor of President Obamas birthday tomorrow, the Republican National Committee sent a cake to the Democratic National Committee with this message to the president: You Didnt Bake That. A spokesman for the RNC said that next year [we hope] he has more time for baking so the country can get back to job creating. The line on the cake was also used in a series of mock birthday cards released by the RNC this week for the president.
The phrase on the cake is a reference to Obamas comment during a campaign stop several weeks ago when the president used the phrase you didnt build that when talking about small businesses. RNC spokesman Tim Miller joked that because Obamas birthday is really tomorrow, it was intended to wish him a happy 50.99726 years.
A spokeswoman for the DNC responded to the stunt in a statement to The Huffington Post.
This is typical of Mitt Romneys approach to the middle class He wants to Let them eat cake! while robbing them blind. We sent the cake back to the RNC, along with a copy of the Tax Centers report on Mitt Romneys tax plan.

(19,458 posts)Seriously. Why do I keep being surprised by the absolute lack of CLASS that these human cesspools display???
Really.. really.. cruel thing to do. I just hate shit like this. They took it out of context. they are BULLIES, just like Romney.
SO proud of the Democrats for sending it back.. I would have thrown it back at their front door. THe problem with the tone-deaf RNC/GOP is that they never seem to know when to stop. The quote was taken out of context, and by now only the most ignorant people don't knwo this.. even the MSM has pointed it out. But they can't stop themselves, can they? Like when they show up on twitter and try to get in on the romney memes, and screw it up because they're not funny.
What assholes.
And can SOMEONE clue that Josh person that wrote it that the President was NOT referring to small businesses when he made that quote? He was TALKING about INFRASTRUCTURE. Geez..

Glad the DNC sent the the cake back to the kids table.

(50,552 posts)That would have been wrong, though.
What I probably would have done, and this isn't awful or anything, is to have a baker peel off the "You Didn't Bake This" print and replace it with a printed copy of IRS Form 4506 (Request for Previous Years' Tax Returns)--filled out and all ready to send in.
